Jim Roberts

Jim Roberts is a 1980 graduate of Heath High School.  He excelled as 3-sport athlete and won 10 letters in his career at Heath.  He lettered all 4 years in both football and track, and 2 years in basketball.  He was leading rusher and scorer in football, and was a leader in assists and steals in basketball.  In track he was a member of the three Licking County Championship teams.  His longest lasting Heath record in track stood for 25 years before it was broken by his son, Aaron.  Jim has continued making contributions to the Heath community and Heath athletics.  He coached football at Fulton Middle School, has managed the finish line at the Heath Invitational for 29 years, and for 23 years was “The voice of the Bulldogs,” announcing Heath home football games.  He has continued his contributions to Heath High School through serving on the board of Education for 16 years, 13 as board President.  He founded the “Beyond 200 Task Force” that determinded Heath should construct a new high school and upgrade its athletics facilities. Because of the updated, state-of-the-art facilities, Heath has been able to attract District level competition to its school.  His final contribution to Heath athletics were his two children, Aaron, a 2007 graduate of Heath, and his daughter Kelly, graduated from Heath in 2011.  Both earned All-Ohio athletic honors, Kelly earned 12 letters, and Aaron was a 6-time state track champion.
