The Heath junior varsity baseball team hosted Utica on Monday and battled to earn a 5-4 victory, improving their overall record to 6-3 on the season and 4-1 in the LCL. Marshall Flynn was the starting pitcher and picked up the win for the Bulldogs, pitching six innings, allowing only one walk, and striking out seven Utica batters. Logan Byers pitched a scoreless 7th inning for Heath and got his second save of the season. Justin Hartman led the Dogs at the plate, going 2-4 with a double, 3 RBIs, and a stolen base. Kamden Kreager also went 2-4, adding two runs scored and three stolen bases. Blake Earick was 2-2 with a walk and Matt Bowman was 1-2 with a run scored and a stolen base. Marcus Clayton pinch ran and scored the winning run for the Bulldogs in the 6th inning.
